Artist Self-Portraits

While I had all the studio lighting setup to document my artwork for the juried exhibition applications, I decided to take some photos of myself with my art. I’m finding I don’t have many good photos of myself recently for things like this website, etsy, etc. So, I’ll share a few here:

The first is my “professional” looking one (although I suppose a tank top isn’t that professional. The second and third are me being more myself: relaxed in my gray hoodie and maybe a little bit silly, leaning on the wall or sitting on the floor.

These three were test shots before I changed clothes, put on a little bit of makeup, and brushed my hair. I like the truth of them.

And, above, we have some “behind the scenes” photos. The first one is after I’d mostly taken down all the setup used to try and take photos of the patingings behind glass. You can still see a little bit of the black fabric hanging on the right side that was no longer useful but I hadn’t put away yet.

The bottom two show my new gray card (which you might notice is the same as the wall behind it - I’d completely forgotten that we specifically painted the walls 18% gray-card gray. It also shows my mostly useless color correction card. After some research, I’ve decided I will likely get the Spyder brand card and software sometime soon. It is reasonably priced and actually works.
